Laura Walker is one of the UK’s leading social impact specialists with over 20 years experience in the assessment, measurement and evaluation of equality and social impacts of infrastructure and planning projects.
Throughout her career she has supported public and private sector organisations to comply with their duties in regards to the Equality Act 2010 and other relevant legislation whilst also helping to maximise positive social outcomes.
Laura is skilled in developing innovative approaches to streamline and measure social impact processes, reducing the burden on organisations whilst helping them deliver the best outcomes for communities.
Throughout her career working for public sector and large multi-disciplinary organisations, Laura has developed processes, assessment and evaluation tools and techniques to measure and evaluate social and equality impacts and outcomes.

She has also developed evidence, research, and methodologies for TAG (Transport Appraisal Guidance) social and distributional impact and appraisal unit for DfT. Employed as Associate Director for AECOM, Laura supported National Highways to develop a social value framework for major projects and created a bespoke social impact measurement framework for Battersea Power Station Development Corporation).
